“いわゆる「150人の法則」とは、現実の社会的ネットワークにおけるメンバーは150人に限定される、というものである。この法則は、異文化を扱う社会学や文化人類学における、村落の最大人員でも同じことが言える。その数は平均的な人間能力にとって、集団のメンバーであると認識し感情を把握することの出来る、ある種の限界であることが発達心理学によって明らかにされている。もっとも、それは経済学的な問題かも知れず、集団が大きくなるとそれにつれ詐欺師やうそつきも活動しやすくなる傾向があるので、「フリーライダー」の動きにも着目する必要があるだろう。”
